Fun fact about me: I was about 9 when I got lost in a market in a city nearby. My parents were so upset that they filed a report. After that, they went back home to surprisingly find me there. A neighbor who was also in the market had dropped me home. My parents were so happy to see me.

Our Mentors
Kathy Magee
Kathy Magee retired in 2019, having held the position of the Volunteer Specialist with the City of Ottawa for 17 years. In 2020 she was a Professor at Algonquin College, teaching Volunteer Management in the Event Management Program. Kathy is the current Chair of the Advisory Board for the Event Management Program at Algonquin College, and also a Mentor in the same Program. In the past Kathy has served on the boards of Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada, among others. She continues to support the Ottawa community by delivering multiple workshops on the topic of Volunteer Management and Project Management for various agencies.
Rebecca Trafford
Rebecca Trafford joined sister companies Chic + Swell Event Designers & LouLou Lounge Furniture Rentals in 2013. When COVID 19 impacted the globe, she played a role in the launch of Ottawa Pop Up Events and their latest series Ottawa Pop Up Party in a Box. She has volunteered her time on a number of different committees and was the Gala Committee Chair for 2018-19 and the Annual Festive Dinner Co-Chair for 2020. As a former graduate of the Event Management Program, Rebecca attributes much of her success to the fundamentals that the program taught her and the relationships that were made.
